REJOICING IN THESE DIFFICULT TIMES!
TEXT:
"This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalms 118 verse 24, King James Version)
A big problem with many people these days is pessimism. We have many out there that have chosen to be negative in outlook. It's such that though God, the One who cannot lie told them something, they still won't believe it. Yet another problem is that of low self esteem. We often make conclusions and feel that certain things are beyond our reach. Wouldn't it be exciting to wake up every morning, in spite of all that is currently going on around us and declare to ourselves, "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." ?
Truth is, you may not feel like rejoicing when you get up this morning, but I have learned that the Word of God to us is prophetic, even the very words that we speak to ourselves. That I will always have what I say is one of the very foundational principles of Christianity that I learned very early.
Like I said earlier, you might not feel like rejoicing when you woke up early this morning. In the same vein, you might not feel like going to work when you wake up, but you gotta get up and go anyway, because you know the consequences of not going to work. Though you felt like not going, yet you've got to get up and go. Someone has said that it would be disastrous in the world if everyone did whatever he felt like doing. Things might come to a standstill should that be the case.
The Lord has given us His Word that the year 2025 is our year of Joy, Rejoicing and Celebration. Can you believe the Lord's Word in spite of what's happening right now? Can you get up this morning and say, 'This is the day which the LORD hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.' Or, 'I believe God's Word that this day, and every day in 2025, I am experiencing joy, rejoicing with celebrations, in Jesus' Mighty name’. Let's learn to vocalise God's Word, in spite of our situations and we will be the better for it.
Afterall, we have the assurance from God saying, that the Word "that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." (Isaiah 55 verse 11).
PRAYER:
Lord, help me to believe Your Word and grant me grace to put it to work in my life, in Jesus name.
