TEXT
"Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3 verse 20)
From the Scripture reading today, we see God the Creator of all things, standing and knocking, waiting to be given access into the hearts of His creatures. This is amazing!
Truth is, God doesn't force Himself on anyone. He takes possession by invitation, especially when it comes to man, because He made him a free moral agent. I want to emphasize that God is knocking at the door of men's hearts today and the question is how many have opened up to let Him in?
On the contrary, the god of this world has preoccupied people’s hearts with lies and deceptions. The Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 4 verses 3 to 4,
"But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them."
Brethren, God has long been knocking at the door of our hearts to let Him in to sup with us and vice-versa. Isn't it wise therefore that we open up to Him that He might dwell in us with all His goodness and blessings forever?
When He finds an open heart, He comes in with the kind of love you definitely have not experienced before. He comes in with joy unspeakable, to the end that you become free from depression and the likes. His presence in a soul brings about abundant peace of mind. Sicknesses flee in His presence and many more. Indeed,God's presence makes all things anew. That's why the Bible says in the Book of Second Corinthians 5 verse 17, "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
Indeed, God’s presence in a life brings about great and awesome things that are beyond comprehension. To someone reading the devotional this morning, who has not determined to yield to Jesus, what are you waiting for? The Bible says in 2nd Corinthians 6 verse 2,
"... behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
Yes, today is the day of salvation, take the opportunity of it, my dear brother or sister, for tomorrow may be too late.
Do you want to experience joy, rejoicing, and celebrations all through this year? You have to yield your life to the Giver of joy, rejoicing, and celebrations, and you will be glad that you did.
PRAYER:
Precious Redeemer, I surrender my life to You. Come and take possession of me forevermore, in Jesus Mighty name.
