DON'T GIVE UP ON GOD ON ACCOUNT OF DISCOURAGEMENT.

 TEXT:

"Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath." (John chapter 5 verses 8 to 9, King James Version)

The miracle of the healing of the impotent man that had been at the pool of Bethesda and who was in that condition for 38 years, teaches us to be patient and to persevere in seeking our goals in life. The terrible ordeals he went through whilst at the pool, coupled with family abandonment didn't deter him. He waited despite his disappointments. He could have said shortly before Christ showed up: "there's no use; l shall never get into the pool; let me go home and die".

Then, he would have lost the chance of a wonderful miracle from Jesus! But he held on and his perseverance was graciously rewarded with a glorious cure by Jesus.

Regarding the works of God, He has His timing (Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verses 1-8) The good news is that He makes all things beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 11) There's immense wisdom in not giving up on God. Those that give up too early miss the chance to see God work for them in a miraculous way. It doesn't only pay to wait for God to show up in His time, we discover that when He eventually does, there's no comparing His awesomeness to your wretched and vile nature, no comparing His strength to your weakness, etc.

That the Lord hasn't shown up for you now is not to mean that He has forgotten you or that your case is beyond redemption. Indeed, should you persevere and wait for Him like the impotent man under consideration, Jesus plans to give you an extra-ordinary miracle that will beat the imagination of all, including them that thought that it had finished with you.

Hold on, friend! As God's child, you are in for the surprise of your life in terms of His goodness, if only you can be patient and wait for His timing. It actually doesn't matter how you feel about yourself. In actual fact, you cannot outdo the Lord when it comes to compassion and pity. He pities you beyond your wildest imagination. Indeed, you'll discover that He'd been waiting for you to cooperate with Him so as to enable Him to change your situation

If your problem is with your passing age, remember that you serve the God of Abraham and Sarah. Though they were both stricken in years, yet the Lord worked out a miracle that defied nature for them. Do your friends and relatives mock you for your situation despite that in your estimation you have been true to God? In that case, remember Job. In the end, everyone saw his wisdom in not giving up on God, despite being tempted to do so by his wife and friends.

Brethren, I have searched diligently and discovered that it's sheer foolishness to give up on God. He's not only faithful, but caring and never forgetting to reward them that wait for Him. Your miracle is very close, so don't give up on God on account of discouragement.

PRAYER:

Dearest Heavenly Father, I thank you for being faithful and steadfast toward me. I refuse to quit but rather choose to wait on you for my miracle, which I believe is manifesting very soon, in Jesus mighty name.
