WHAT IS JESUS' WORTH TO YOU? [ Part 4]

SONG

I am not alone, I am not alone,

I am with my darling Jesus.

I am not alone,

TEXT

"There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up..." (Daniel chapter 3 verses 12-26)

From the scriptural reading of today, we see the three Hebrew children affirming their faith and relationship with God. These boys chose to live according to the standards of God rather than that of men or the dictates of the world. They demonstrated their faith and commitment to their God. They loved God more than their own lives; they put their lives at the stake for Him. God, in His graciousness, didn't abandon them in it. He stood with them in the midst of the fire to the end that they came out un-scratched.

"He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.”  (Daniel chapter 3 verse 25)

In the furnace of fire, the three Hebrew boys were to teach the King what he did not know about the God of Israel.

First and foremost, the Babylonian king came to understand that the God of Israel is the greatest. "Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?" - (Exodus chapter 15 verse 11)

Secondly, that He is ever with His children and never leaves them a second.

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." (Exodus chapter 13 verse 5)

Thirdly, that there were some people that the fire could not consume.

"Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire." (Daniel chapter 3 verse 26)

What seemed to be an apparent defeat resulted in a marvelous victory.

The three Hebrew children's story is for us to learn that in all the hard places we find ourselves, God is making opportunities for us to exercise great faith in Him that will bring about blessed results that will glorify His Holy name.

PRAYER

In every hard place I find myself, Your grace O Lord is ever sufficient for me in Jesus Mighty name.
