THE TRUE GUIDE
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.Galatians 5:16 KJV.
Saint Paul argued for the freedom we have in Christ. He points out the need to:
- Maintain our freedom in Christ.
- Not to abuse the freedom we have in Christ.
- Love one another and not fight each other.
And in today's verse he says our true guide that will help us overcome the lust of the flesh is the Spirit of God. To subject the human nature is to yield to the control of the Holy Spirit.
To walk in the Spirit will enable us to live above the sinful human nature. Our true guide is the Spirit of God. He is the One that will actually help us to maintain our freedom in Christ.
He is the One that will help us to love each other and not to fight one another. He is the One that will really help us to refuse to fulfill the lust of the flesh.
The clarion call this morning is let's allow our true Guide to lead us. We have often ended up doing the things we don't really want to do. But we are called upon to allow the strength from the Spirit of God to strengthen us to walk and not go ahead of God or get stocked up in one place, but walk in the Spirit of God.
We are to be in step with Him today.
How can I walk in the Spirit today?
1 I can trust that God will provide everything I need.
- I can talk to God about what He wants, and then obey Him by doing it.
- I can seek accountability with someone who listens to the Holy Spirit
PRAYER
LORD I PRAY THAT YOU HELP ME TO WALK IN THE SPIRIT SO AS NOT TO GRATIFY THE DESIRE OF MY FLESH. FOR I OFTEN DO WHAT I DON'T WANT TO DO. HELP ME DEAR LORD TODAY IN YOUR PRECIOUS NAME, AMEN.
