IT'S ABOUT SERVICE AND NOT BEING SERVED.

Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many - Matthew 20:28 KJV

Jesus our Savior and Model said this to His disciples and the crowd that was following Him. He addressed his disciples in particular. They expressed displeasure with John's and James' request.  It became a teaching moment for the Lord to let them know His mission again.

He came to serve not to be served.

He came to give his life to save people.

He came to redeem people not to be a Boss

He understood his mission as against what he was to be in the eyes of the world. When we have the opportunity to serve people, what do we do with it.

Ours is a call to self sacrifice and not lordship.

God expects us in this month of uncompromising service to serve and not be served. We must not continue to fight over who becomes the greatest and who should occupy what position, rather we should be craving for what we can do to the body of Christ and humanity.

Service should be our watchword. Let's lay aside those things that will stop us from being servants. Give your life in exchange just as Jesus did. He laid down His life for us, we have to lay down our lives for others too. So we are to share our freedom in Christ with other people today. But how can we do that?

  1. Through service and act of love
  2. Through encouragement and kind words
  3. Through selflessness and generosity

PRAYER:

JESUS, HELP ME REPLICATE YOUR SELFLESS SERVICE TO THE WORLD BY DOING THE THINGS YOU DID IN YOUR PRECIOUS NAME AMEN
