SONG

I don't worry, l don't care, l know my Lord is on my side

I don't worry, l don't care, l know my Lord is on my side

I don't worry, l don't care, l know my Lord is on my side

I know my Lord will carry me through.

TEXT

"Overhearing but ignoring what they said, Jesus said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be seized with alarm and struck with fear; only keep on believing." - Mark chapter 5 verse 36 - [AMPLIFIED]

The things we fear and dread are usually as follows: death, sickness, poverty, failure, disappointment, and lots more.

One of such things is what came upon the family of Jairus, the ruler of the synagogue.

Jesus said to the ruler of the Synagogue not to be afraid but to only believe. Jesus has the power over every situation of life, of which death is not exempted. As believers in Christ Jesus, we are not expected to be moved by the circumstances around us but rather be moved by the word of God. What is more, the Word of God is always and ever true; whatsoever it says, that is what happens. Hallelujah!

The circumstance around Jairus was not pleasant, yet he believed the Word of God concerning his daughter's health. Jesus encouraged the father of the afflicted, "Be not afraid, only believe." Thank God that the father of the afflicted sought Jesus for help; his application to Christ on behalf of his child was not in vain, and the daughter actually came back to life. This is what faith in God and His Word does.

Faith is the only remedy against disquieting grief and fear at such a time. If only we can believe the Word of God and keep up our confidence in Christ, and a dependence upon Him, we will never be moved. Our faith upon the spoken Word of God is what draws out miracles from God. Hallelujah!

Let us look at what Jesus says in the book of John chapter 16 verse 33. "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

Having such words of encouragement, assurance and comfort from our Savior Jesus Christ, then there should not be any reason for anyone to fret or to be dismayed over any circumstances that may come our way. God’s Word is as real and certain as God Himself.

In Christ alone is peace. The Lord Himself affirmed this fact saying,  "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." (John chapter 16 verse 33).

It’s not only safe to trust God’s Word, but His methods and His timing.

PRAYER:

Thank You Heavenly Father for what You have done for me in Christ Jesus; having overcome the world and given me victory over all my fears and dreads, in Jesus name.
