STANDING FAST IN THE LORD (PART 2, FINAL PART)

TEXT:

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." (Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10, King James Version).

In part 1 to these series, I stated that in order for the Christian to be successful against satan, he needs to stand fast in the Lord (Philippians chapter 4 verse 1). Yes,for the Christian to be successful against satan, he needs to be rightly positioned in Christ, which includes him taking advantage of God's graces that are made available to him in Christ. We noted that in Ephesians chapter 6 verse 10, which is today's Scripture verse, the Bible says that the Christian is to be strong in two areas:

  1. Be strong in the Lord, and
  2. Be strong in the Power of His

         Might.

We examined in the previous part 1 to these series what it is to be strong the Lord. There, we observed that it is basically to be strong in His Word (see Colossians chapter 3 verse 16).

Besides, we mentioned very tersely that to be strong in the Power of His Might is to take advantage of God's  Spirit and His anointing. God knows that we will need help to counter and overcome the devil's onslaughts against us. In that regard, He blessed us with His Spirit.

In the face of satanic attacks, our major responsibility is to "stand" firmly in the faith. The reason you need to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might is so that you can stand your ground against the wiles of the devil "in the evil day" (Ephesians chapter.6 verse 13). What's the "evil day"? The "evil day"  is when Satan will come to test, try, and tempt you, with the aim to steal, kill or to destroy you. At that time, you will have to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might so you can take your stand of faith against him.

You will notice that satanic activities are on the rise in these end times. This is because the enemy knows that the time is short (1 Corinthians chapter 7 verses 29 and 31; Romans chapter 13 verses 11 to 12)

According to Apostle Paul, God's command to us at this time is that we be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians chapter 5 verse 18). Someone has rightly observed that we are to “Be God-intoxicated men," the apostle would seem to say; "let the Spirit of God so control you that you shall pour yourself out in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs."

I often say to people that you will be full of the Holy Spirit as you actually want to be. Indeed, everybody has as much of God as he desires to have. There's usually the price to pay for these things. It's as simple as that. With the increase in demonic activities all over the place, it's definitely a good thing to stay strong in the power of God's might, to stay full of God's Spirit to overflowing. In this way, you will be more than conquerors as Christ has desired you to be.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord Jesus, thank You for the Gift of the Holy Spirit. I stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might all through these end times, amen.
