NEVER GIVE IN TO FEAR [ Part 2].
SONG
Leave it there, leave it there.
Take your problems to the Lord and leave it there.
He will surely deliver you, if you put your trust in Him.
Take your problems to the Lord and leave it there.
TEXT
"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." - Deuteronomy chapter 31 verse 6.
These are pure words of encouragement to someone reading our devotional this morning. I may not know what you are passing through this morning but God knows, and this is His Word to you over that situation: "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
Believers in Christ Jesus are not expected to fear but are to be full of the Spirit and to be of a sound mind. That is to say, they should be strong and courageous over whatever circumstances that may come their ways. Therefore, we're to grasp the divine Word of God with appropriate faith. These promises are meant for our consumption on a daily basis.
We don't have to give room to intimidation by the enemy, knowing who we are in Christ Jesus and what He has done for us.
The Bible has made it clear in the book of Philippians chapter 1 verse 28, saying, "Don't be intimidated by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself". [NLT]
We need not fear anything, having the Lord by your side. For He has promised never to leave us or to forsake us.
All we need to know and to do is to be full of the consciousness of who God is; that He's a good and covenant keeping God.
It's been said that the Bible has about three hundred and sixty-five records of the phrase "FEAR NOT"! This is to say that for each day of our lives here on earth, there is a word of encouragement for us to dwell upon. It is, FEAR NOT!
The Word of God says, "God has not given us the Spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and of a sound mind." ( Second Timothy chapter 1 verse 17)
The Spirit we received from God is not of fear, it's of "power, of love, and of a sound mind."
What exactly is it that is making you afraid? Whatever it is, you can always count on God. Considering Abraham, the Bible says that
"After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." - Genesis chapter 15 verse 1.
God is a covenant keeping God. He came through for Abraham over all that he feared and dreaded. He will surely come through for you over that situation, and you will look for it and not find it again, in Jesus name.
Let us not be content with the habit of reading God's promises for reading's sake. Rather, we should take them directly home to ourselves; that is, into our hearts, confess them and apply them by faith into our situations. That is when we will see results.
PRAYER:
Thank you Heavenly Father for Your ever present help in time of trouble. I'm not afraid because You are with me, and if You are for me, no one can be against me, in Jesus name.
