MY HELP COMES FROM THE LORD.

 SONG

I look up to the mountains, to the hills I turn my eyes.

Who will come to help me, can I find a place to hide?

The one who made Heaven and the Earth to Him will I call.

The Lord will come to help me, He will not let me fall… .

TEXT

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." - Psalms  121:1

Our God is good and gracious, He loves us so dearly and He is ever ready to do good unto us. He demonstrated this by sending His only Begotten Son to die for humanity. If He could do this, what else can He not do for us who are called by His Name and who put their trust are in Him?

It's un-christian to place trust in man, whose breath is in his nostril; rather, we are to put our trust in the Lord who made Heaven and the Earth.

 The Psalmist declares:

I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2.

The story of the widow of Zarephath is a perfect example of a child of God who never knew where help would  come from. Already,  she had concluded her fate;  "And she said, As the LORD thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die." - Kings  17:12.

This widow had not the slightest knowledge, whatsoever, about the direction from which help was to come.

She did not know that help was already on the way, for God, the Source of true help, had spoken to the Prophet. The Lord had to prepare and send the Prophet in order to allow a widow to enjoy the benefits of  divine encounter. God can raise anybody to bless you. In His wisdom and power, He can turn circumstances around and prepare the ground for a supernatural breakthrough.

The mystery behind the workings of God cannot be understood, because His ways are past finding out. God knew what He was going to do in the life of the widow, but He gave to Elijah  limited information about her. For instance, God did not give the name of the widow to Elijah. There were indeed lots of widows in the city, but God did not give any specific information concerning the beneficiary of the miracle. He simply ordered the Prophet to go. The prophet arrived at the nick of time to see the woman gathering sticks at the city's gate.. God is always on time! The help that you require from Him will always arrive at the nick of time because He is never late.

Another similar story of divine intervention is that of the widow of Nain (see Luke 7:11-15).

A widow was on her way to bury her dead son, but before she reached the graveyard, Jesus arrived just at the nick of time. God will reach you sooner than you expect in Jesus name. The help you are expecting from Him will arrive at the exact time that He has planned it to reach you. The widow probably had decided to accept the sad situation, and had planned for her son’s burial, but God stepped in and the story changed for the better.

God, the Maker of Heaven and earth will send help to you today and you will testify in Jesus' Mighty name.

PRAYER

Thank you Everlasting Father for sending help to me at every time that I'm in need of help in Jesus' Mighty name.
