TEXT
"And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you..." Joel 2:25-27.
Sometimes, life doesn’t always go our way. Things don’t always work out according to our timetable. Many of us will agree with me that this is usually true.
And often, it seems we get troubled from all sides. Problems can leave us thinking, wondering what might eventually be the possible end of the situation.
Some few months ago, the year 2023 began. Days, weeks and months are going by. We may look back and wonder how it is going so fast. At times, it seems so slow when we walk through difficulties.
Most times, we try our best to live our lives in a way that honors God. This doesn’t erase the fact that we live in a fallen world. We’re constantly faced with so many battles such as hardship, struggles, broken relationships, illness, and our own personal weaknesses, too. In the midst of all these, we sometimes feel like we’ve lost time, missed opportunities, or blown chances along the way.
God is more than able “to restore the years that the locust hath eaten” (Joel 2:25); He will do this when we put the whole situation and ourselves wholly and squarely in His hands. Not because of what we can do or what we are but because of what He is and what Christ has done. He forgives, heals, and restores. He is “the God of all mercy and grace". Praise be to His Holy name.
Are you struggling with some kind of feelings, having walked through too many broken years of pain? It is as if God could never work through for us at times. It can be too difficult to figure things out.
One thing is certain, He alone is our Hope-giver, our Restorer, our Redeemer, our Healer, and our Friend. He is more than able to restore all that’s been stolen from us.
He knows our way, "But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold." - Job.23:10.
He is ever close and working far beyond what we can fully imagine or see.
"Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." - Deut. 31:6
The good news is this; a new season is at hand for someone reading this devotional this morning in Jesus' Mighty name. Don’t give up. He that has woken you up this morning has not finished with you yet. There are so many good things in store for you. Hallelujah!
Nothing is too hard for Jesus to do. We have a God who delights in impossibilities. He is greater than anything we face in this life and much bigger than our own brokenness, weakness, or whatever things we might have lost.
He is making everything beautiful at His own time. Hallelujah!
PRAYER
Thank You Heavenly Father for restoring the years that the locust and the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, have eaten in my life, in Jesus Mighty name.
