CONNECTING WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE

 SONG

Lord, I give You my life.

I give You my soul.

I live for You alone

Every breath that I take

Every moment I'm awake

Lord have Your way in me.

TEXT

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you," 2 Corinthians  6:17

As a believer, you are called to live a life of separation unto Christ. There is no relationship between the light and darkness, or between Christ and the devil. The Bible says we are the light of the world and we are to portray who we are in  Christ Jesus.

You need to get the wrong people out of your life, so that God can bring along your way the right people. The wrong people will never take you up, they will only succeed in bringing you down. Still, the wrong people will talk you out of your dreams and visions. Therefore, associate yourself with those that understand and agree with your dreams, visions and goals.

Move with the people who will talk you up and not those who will talk you down.

There are people who are vision killers. For example, in the matter of Jairus daughter, the mourners laughed at Jesus to scorn. When Jesus got into the room where the damsel was laid He showed them the way out of the room.

"And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying." Mark  5:40

There are also people who God brings along our ways to fulfill our destiny. They are given to us as vision helpers, such as the little Israelite girl, who was a maid to Naaman's wife. She showed the master the way of salvation. "And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy." - 2 Kings  5:3

The servant of Kish, the father of  Saul, also directed Saul unto the place of promotion and fulfilment of destiny. (see 1 Samuel 9:6-8).

"And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can shew us our way that we should go...." 1 Samuel  9:6

Stop spending your time with people who cannot make you better because one negative influence by them can take you many steps backward. Those that cannot add to your life will definitely subtract from it.

But for the mercies of God, King Jehoshaphat's life would have ended in a terrible way, because of the company of King Ahab. Joining affinity with a wrong person serves to identify you hook, line and sinker with that wrong person. (see 1 Kings 22:2-4).

"And he said unto Jehoshaphat, Wilt thou go with me to battle to Ramothgilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as thou art, my people as thy people, my horses as thy horses. …" 1 Kings  22:4

Abraham had to separate himself from Lot before he could see the entirety of the promised land. (Genesis 13:14-15). "And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward:" Genesis  13:14

If you give up anything  for God, He will give you something better in return.

PRAYER:

Lord, by the leadership of the Holy Spirit, connect me with the right people and disconnect me from the wrong people, in Jesus name.
