YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED

TEXT:

"For surely there is an end; and thine expectation shall not be cut off." (Proverbs 23 verse 18, King James Version).

Proverbs 23 verse 18 is one of my favorite Scriptures. It's been a source of encouragement to me ever since I came to know the Lord and He has fulfilled this Scripture countless times in my life; so much that with it, I'm able to allay the fears of those that are on the verge of giving up on God.

I remember another Scripture that's very related to the one we're considering today. it's Psalms 27 stanza 13. It says in the New International Version as follows: "

I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living."

King David penned this Scripture when he was going through moments of despondency and dispiritedness in his life. For him, things were not going the way he expected, but like it was always the case with him, he encouraged himself in the Lord saying, ‘things may be rough with me, but I know Whom I have believed in. In His faithfulness, He will not allow me to see shame. I'm confident that things will turn around soon to my delight.’

Are you currently going through some moment of fear that thing that you hope for may not come through? Though the situation may be rough, resolve that you'll not allow it to steal your vision or to cause you to give up on your dreams. Be confident that this year, you will see God working out that situation in a new way. Remember that the grace that we run with in 2024 is that God will do new things for us because it's our year of New Things!

In moments of seeming disappointments, let your focus be on  God's inerrant Word. Refuse to faint or to envy sinners who seem to be happy and having things go well with them. The Bible says,

"Don’t envy sinners, but follow the example of those who always fear God; for then you will have a future; what you hope for will not be cut off." (Proverbs 23 verses 17 to 18, Complete Jewish Bible)

Let your prayer and meditation be, Lord,

"Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me." (Psalms 119 stanza 49) Again Lord, "Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.” (Psalms 119 stanza 116)

Keep in mind that what you focus on is what you're going to see happen. Take your mind off what you see, feel or hear. It doesn't matter what the medical report says. Neither does it matter what your bank statement shows. Don't let it scare you, but rather, be confident that you'll see God's goodness very soon. The Bible says that we look away from our situations unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12 verse 2).

This is the faith way and it's a choice you'll have to make, bearing in mind that nothing is too hard for God to do. See yourself testifying very soon to His faithfulness, in Jesus name.

PRAYER:

Lord, I believe to see Your goodness soon in my life. I choose to focus on You no matter what my current situation may look like. Give me Your peace now as I keep my mind focused on You, in Jesus' name.
