TEXT

"Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.  And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him." (Matthew chapter 26 verses 14 to 16)

What is the worth of Jesus to you? This is a question everyone should ask himself or herself as often as possible. Let us be careful not to be busy with our services and yet leave out the main Object of our services, the Lord Jesus Christ.

It was for this purpose that the apostles gave themselves to the Word of God, while they appointed deacons to cater in the matters of the table.

"Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables..." (Acts.

 chapter 6 verses 2 to 4)

Indeed, who the Lord Jesus is to you will determine how far you can go with Him and how much you can sacrifice for Him.

At a point in time, Peter and the other apostles left everything to follow Jesus.

Like the apostles, what are you ready to sacrifice for Him? Let us take a moment  to think and ask ourselves when last  we chose to meet the needs of God over that of our person or family.

What value do you place on Jesus? Is your walk with Jesus about what you would gain or what He could do for you? As for Judas, he saw Jesus as a Commodity that he could use to do business. His price tag on Him was thirty pieces of silver.

"...And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver." (Matthew chapter 26 verses 15)

You may say, no, that was very bad of Judas. Yet it may interest you to know that many of us are doing the same thing, or even worse things.

Many people have placed different price tags on the Lord Jesus Christ.  For many, they see money as their god, as it was with Judas. For others, it’s fame or pleasure at the expense of Jesus. Many people's actions, or otherwise pose as betrayals of Jesus.

Today, let us take stock of the price we have put on Jesus and have a change of mind to do better. We will be glad in the end that we made amendments and improvements in that regard.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Son Jesus Christ. I declare that He's worth more than everything to me in life.
