TOO DEFENDED TO BE A VICTIM.
TEXT:
"He suffered no man to do them wrong: yea, he reproved kings for their sakes; Saying, Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm." (Psalms 105: stanzas 14 to 15, King James Version).
What we have here is God's protection over Israel as they journeyed from Egypt to Canaan, the Promised Land. The Bible says that God didn’t allow anyone to treat them badly. He watched over them to ensure that they were safe. To keep them safe, he gave a command to kings. He said to them, “Do not touch my anointed ones. Do not harm my prophets.”
In the same vein, in our journey through life, God watches over us, ensuring that things go right with us. If the Lord did it for His chosen ones in the Old Testament days, be assured that He will do better than ever, now that we are in the New Testament era.
Sometimes, we find people who out of ignorance, harbor a very wrong perspective of who they are in Christ. Firstly, let us get it settled that the New Testament is a better covenant, which was established upon better promises (Hebrews 8 verse 6) At best, the Old Testament was "a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things" (Hebrews 10 verse 1). The essence of this is that whatever God did for the Old Testament saints, it's sure that He will do better for us today.
In Christ Jesus, God has not only chosen us, like He chose Israel (John 15 verse 16; Ephesians 1 verse 4; 1st Peter 2 verse 9), He has also anointed us (2nd Corinthians 1 verse 21), abundantly (Titus 3 verses 5 to 6). Under the New Testament salvation, things have gone far beyond God suffering no man to do us harm and reproving kings for our sakes. In Christ Jesus, we are not only seated in Him, far above and beyond the reach of the wicked (Ephesians 1 verses 20 to 21, 2 verse 6), we have been made more than conquerors through Him that loved us (Romans 8 verse 37). Besides, Christ has overcome for us (John 16 verse 30), and has made us overcomers (1st John 4:4 verses, 5 verse 4). Hallelujah! No matter how vicious the enemy's plot against you may be, God sees to it you are well defended.
Be rest assured therefore that you are the apple of God's Eye! The Bible says that "he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye." (Zechariah 2 verse 8). Heaven is watching over you, fighting your battles, to keep and to deliver you from all evil, whether conceivable or inconceivable. Dear child of God, know that there's no way you can be a victim of evil machinations from the pit of hell, no matter what. Keep being the child of God that you are because He has assured you of deliverance at all times. Learn to live with this consciousness. It's your heritage in Christ Jesus. To God be all glory!
PRAYER:
Thank You Lord for accepting me in the Beloved. My life is hidden with Christ in God. No evil formed against me prospers, in Jesus name.
