TEXT

"He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee," - Luke.24.6.

Thank God for raising Jesus up from the grave. This is the greatest incident in the history of mankind. Had Christ not risen from the dead, there would not have been the hope of eternity for believers and what is more there would have been nothing called the Church today.

Resurrection is the first and last hope of humanity.

Let us look at the things that took place before the resurrection of Jesus Christ

On that fateful Friday Jesus was crucified. All was gloomy and seemed as the end of the road or everything to the disciples of Jesus. They cried and they could not envisage whether there was any way out of the woods. Some horrible things happened that day, the sun did not shine, the earth quaked, great fear was among His followers and sadness among the disciples.

Is there anyone at this moment who is in a despairing situation like the disciples of Jesus, not having any hope of a possible way out there? I want to tell you that, it's not your end, even as it seemed to be with the disciples of Jesus. There is good news coming through for you. Cheer up my brother.

On the third day the women went to anoint Jesus in the grave as it was the custom of the Jews, but to their surprise, they did not find Him in the grave. This was another devastating moment to the women disciples of Jesus.

"But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre," - John.20.11.

  Glory be to God.

 He arose!

Jesus' resurrection brought light and hope to the disciples and to humanity at large. It  broke the power of death, we therefore do not look at death as a dreadful thing any longer, but as a gateway into greater glory.

"He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee," - Luke.24.6.

The grave could not have power over Jesus. That is to say, the grave can not have it's final say over us as believers for there is another life beyond the grave.

"The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law." - 1 Corinthians 15:56.

The resurrection of Jesus Christ brought about a change of status. In the time past, we were aliens, like wild olive, estranged from the main Olive. He made us that were nobody to become somebody.

Because of the great gift of Christ’s love and sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, He canceled all the records of debt that stood between us and God. Our sins are forgiven, our past is covered.

"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;" - Colossians 2:14

The resurrection power secures our future and eternity.

It has brought us hope for tomorrow, even when we die,we shall live again in His presence forever, Hallelujah!

PRAYER

Thank you Lord Jesus. Your resurrection from death has brought me into a new life, glory and the hope of eternity.
