THE CHRISTIAN AND HIS CONFESSION (PART 4, FINAL PART)

"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me." - Hebrews 13:5-6 (KJV)

This is the final part in our series: "The Christian And His Confession". Like I said, confession is a very vital part of the Christian faith. Confession is simply saying the same thing that God has said about us. It has a tremendous implication as regards our faith in God. When we confess what God has said, it shows that we are in agreement with Him, notwithstanding anything else to the contrary. On the other hand, failure to confess God's Word is tantamount to unbelief and to calling Him a liar.

The Scripture reference for the day reveals an important aspect of confession. It says: "for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say," - Heb 13:5-6. Here, we are encouraged to be bold to say what God has said. The truth is that we can become intimidated by our predicament that it becomes difficult to believe what God has said concerning us. For instance,  in the face of terminal sickness, can you confess your healing and stand steadfastly on your confession despite evidence to the contrary? Whatever we are going through, let's learn to believe God's Word and with boldness, to affirm and confess it.

Ordinarily, we talk quite a bit about the believing part, but we do not talk too much about the saying part. In our Christian race, God expects us to run on the two wheels of believing and confessing what we believe, failing which we can't experience His victory. The Word of God has been given to the Church to put us over the devil and his evil works in our lives. In whatever situation we are in life, God wants us to quit saying the wrong thing and with boldness start saying the right thing. The Word of God is the true picture of us, in spite of what we may be going through physically. Say the Lord is your Helper. Say that the Lord is your Healer. Say that the Lord is your Provider, say He took your infirmities and bore your sicknesses.  Keep talking about the right thing. Stop agreeing with the enemy, seeing and talking about the wrong thing. By your confession, “Agree with God, and be at peace; thereby good will come to you" (Job 22:21, ESV)

God has given us His Word to instruct and direct us so our believing will be right. If our thinking is right and our believing is right, our talking will be right. When you "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly", as Colossians chapter 3 verse 16 instructs us, it's not possible to think, believe or speak wrongly.

Wrong thinking, wrong believing, and wrong confession will defeat you. The devil can't defeat you, because Jesus already has defeated him for you. The devil doesn't defeat you; you defeat yourself by your wrong thinking, wrong believing and wrong talking. If he does defeat you, you permit him to do so. Most times, by your ignorance you have consented to your defeat.

In the midst of insecurity, don't talk fear: Psalms 91:2 tells you what to say: "I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." The Bible says "Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;" (Psalms 107:2 (KJV). When the devil raises dust against you, and you are surrounded by evil, don't confess what you see, hear or feel. The Bible says: "now may Israel say;" (Psalms 124:1, KJV). Again, "When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up;" (Job 22:29, KJV). In the midst of battle, don't confess your defeat. The Bible tells us "let the weak say, I am strong." (Joel 3:10, KJV). Again,  Zionists shouldn't say "I am sick" (Isa 33:24)

Look at David: ordinarily, he was no match against Goliath, but the confession of the seventeen years old boy put him decisively over Goliath, an acclaimed Philistine champion. Before the fearful King Saul, this was David's confession: "The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine." (1 Samuel 17:37, KJV). David's confession before Goliath was most stunning and inspiring; hear him: " ...  I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, ... This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; ... that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel ... And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands." (1 Samuel 17:45-47, KJV).

Brethren, determine to use your mouth well and to your advantage. Victory, healing, deliverance, prosperity, progress, peace, joy, long life and all that you can ever desire is within your reach, by the instrumentality of your mouth. God is watching your mouth to give you what it utters, whether it's life or death. The choice is yours!

PRAYER:

Dearest Heavenly Father, henceforth, my mouth speaks life, victory, healing, deliverance, prosperity, progress, peace, joy, long life, good success; and abundant life I see , in Jesus' mighty name
