THANKSGIVING

"Offer unto God thanksgiving; pay thy vows unto the Most High: And call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me" - Psalms 50:14-15

Do you think God deserves and desires thanksgiving? Thanksgiving is a vital aspect of Christian worship that needs to be emphasised in a thankless generation like this that we are in. It's worthy of note that one characteristic of our generation, according to the Bible, is thanklessness. "For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy," - 2 Tim 3:2. In fact, to be thankless is to be godless!

In Luke 17:12-19, Jesus healed ten lepers and only one returned to give Him thanks and He berated the other nine for being thankless. When the thankful one saw that he was healed as the other nine, instead of going forward to the Priest to be declared by him clean and so be discharged from his confinement, which the other nine aimed at, he returned to Him that was the Author of his cure (Jesus), whom he wished to have the glory of it, before he received the benefit of it. What an attitude! And the Lord commended him for this. Friend, if you let this be your attitude always, you also will receive the commendation of Him Who alone is Lord, in Jesus mighty name.

Have a glorious Sunday service

PRAYER:

Dearest Heavenly Father, thank you for all that you have done for me in Christ Jesus. I'm forever grateful to you for being the Author of my salvation, deliverance and the glorious life that I  possess and live in Christ Jesus.
