THANKSGIVING
"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name." - Ps 100:4
Thanksgiving is principally an attitude of appreciation to God for who He is and what He has done for us.
Some think that the Lord isn't concerned about thanksgiving. That's not true! Jesus the Lord had healed ten lepers, but only one came back to thank Him. What did the Lord say? "And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger." - Lk 17:17
From this verse, we come to understand that thanksgiving tantamounts to giving glory to God! So therefore, when you don't give God thanks, you are by implication not ascribing glory to Him. But that's dangerous because God will not give His glory to another - Isa 42:8, 48:11.
Remember brethren, that thanksgiving is a sacrificial offering! Let it touch your entire being. Whatever touches you has the tendency to touch God. Remember the widow's offering in Mark 12:42. It went to the root of her entire possession! Hence the Lord commended her giving. Don't offer like Cain, but like Abel give your offerings to God (Gen 4). Let God have respect unto you and your offering as He did of Abel; and He will bless you.
Have a beautiful day!
PRAYER
Dearest Heavenly Father, you deserve all the glory and honor for all that you have done and for what you will do for me. I will forever give you thanks, LORD!.
