READ, STUDY, MEMORIZE, MEDITATE AND DO GOD'S WORD DAILY.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth". - 2 Timothy 2:15.

It's a command from God that we read, study, memorize, meditate and do His word regularly and on a daily basis. Take note of the five different approaches to the Word of God: read, study, memorize, meditate and do. His instructions to Joshua are still relevant:

"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success"

- Joshua 1:8 (KJV)

This Scripture teaches us to do three things with God's word: (1) to confess it: "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth ... ". Why?, because with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10).

Confession is a very important tool in our Christian experience. Whatever you confess, you'll have! (2) to "meditate therein day and night" . The reason for this is to get the Word of God to become part of you; God wants His word to be internalized in you. The truth is that the more of God's Word you have on the inside of you, the more of God you are and the more powerful you are! (see Eccl 8:4; Hebrews 4:12). The Bible teaches that God's Word is Spirit and Life (John 6:63). By the Word, we get born again (1 Peter 1:23; James 1:18); and having so done, our eternal destiny is instantly changed. (3) we confess and meditate on them so we may "observe to do according to all that is written therein". God gives kudos to them that keep and do His Word and not to mere hearers only (Rom 2:13; James 1:22-25).

Why does God want us to know and do His Word? There are two reasons, amongst others: (1) He desires us to prosper and to have good success in life (Joshua 1:8; James 1:25). (2) He also wants us changed into the image of His Son through the instrumentality of the Word (2 Corinthians 3:18).

Create adequate time for God's Word and take conscious steps to know Him therefrom and you'll never remain the same.

PRAYER:

Father, help me to earmark good time daily to feed on your Word and as l do so, grant me to understand and do it, in Jesus name
