LET THE WORD OF GOD DWELL RICHLY IN YOU
SONG
Your Word is yea and amen,
I found it yea and amen.
TEXT
"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." - Psalms 119:11
There is this question that every true child of God must sincerely ask himself or herself: How much of the Word of God do I have on the inside of me?
The amount of the Word of God we have in our spirit determines the much of God we are, and how victorious we can be over the enemies of our soul.
Jesus is the Word of God according to the Gospel. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." - John 1:1
He is the second Person in the GodHead. He was an active Participant in the creation.
When the Bible says we should hide the Word of God in our hearts that we might not sin against Him, that's invariably saying that we should have Jesus greatly in our contemplation.
Incorporating the Word of God into our everyday life and occurrences, serves as a comforting reminder of who Christ is, all He has done and all He wants for those of us who love Him.
It doesn't matter how cumbersome our day might be, whether we are working outside of the home, at an amusement park, spending the day with our family, or staying at home with our kids. These and many more should not take the place of the Word of God in our hearts. It should be the front-and-center of our minds, so that our minds will constantly be renewed and reminded of God’s power and love, and also that we be enabled to resist the attacks of the enemy.
Even if we start our day with prayer and devotion, we still need His Word to be ever present throughout the rest of our day, so that we may walk in Christ-like faith, strength and victory.
"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." - Colossians 3:16
His Word reminds us of what is truly important, of His love for us, and that He’s with us in every step, every breath, even on the hard days. It says He will never leave us nor forsake us.
There is a Word for every situation or condition. "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."- Ps.119.105
Just as there is a prescription of drugs for an ailment by a doctor, so also, there is an already prescribed or written down Word by the Greatest Physician/Savior (Christ Jesus) for every situation or condition in life. Hallelujah!
God's Word never changes. His Word is ever true and eternal.
PRAYER
Your Word in my spirit guides me from all wrongs, leads me into all truth and delivers what it says. It will never fail in my life in Jesus' mighty name.
