MAN WILL FAIL YOU!

"Stop trusting in mere human beings, who can’t help you. They only live for a little while. What good are they?"- Isaiah 2:22, NIRV

It took much time for me to learn and come to understand that it's really futile to trust in a fellow man. The Bible says further that "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man ...  in princes." - Psalms 118:8-9, (KJV). Why has it been said that "it is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man"? It is so because trusting in man is fraught with failure and disappointment. Man himself needs help! Besides, unlike God, most men are unfaithful. The Bible tells us that "Confidence  in an unfaithful man in time of trouble is like a broken tooth, and a foot out of joint." - Proverbs 25:19 (KJV).

In Ps 146:3-4, after the warning against putting trust and confidence in man, verse 5 goes on to say that "Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:" This is aso because He will never fail or forsake you (Deut 31:8, Jos 1:5; 1 Sam 12:22; Heb 13:5).

For a man to put his trust for help in a fellow man is a very serious thing before the Lord. Indeed, God has placed a curse on those that do such a thing.

The Lord says, “I will put a curse on people who trust in mere human beings, who depend on mere flesh and blood for their strength, ... " (Jeremiah 17:5, NET) In verse 6, the curse placed on such people is spoken of: "They will be like a shrub in the desert. They will not experience good things even when they happen. It will be as though they were growing in the desert, in a salt land where no one can live." - Jeremiah 17:5-6, NET.

Did you hear that? Part of the curse on those that put their trust in men is that "They will not experience good things even when they happen." That's a serious one. The effect of this curse on men came to light in Jn 5:1-10. There, the Lord Jesus, the Good Shepherd had gone to the pool of Bethesda having five porches, wherein "lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water" (John 5:3). At the end of the day, just one sick folk of 38 years standing was healed.

The question is why didn't the other sick folks around this man shout out to Jesus and ask Him to come over and heal them as He had healed the impotent man? The reason the others were not healed was because they had a man to help them get into the pool. They were so busy looking at their man, they missed their Miracle. According to God's curse in Jer 17:6, because they looked up to man for help, they did not experience good things even when they happened. Jesus, their Miracle came into the midst of them, and then left. On the other hand, the one that Jesus healed had no man to help him. The man that should have helped him into the pool had abandoned him and consequently, he had the Lord to help out.

"The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me." - John 5:7 (KJV).

My brethren, stop trusting in mere human beings, who can’t help you. The Bible asks: "What good are they?" (Isa 2:22). Why don't you turn to the Lord today, repent of having had to look up to a fellow man for help and commit your case to Him! You will be glad and blessed that you did!

PRAYER:

Dearest Heavenly Father, I repent of having to look unto man for help. Henceforth, I'm trusting you to help me, in Jesus name.
