LIFE WITHOUT CHRIST IS EMPTINESS (Part 2)

SONG.

You are the pillar that holds my life.

You are the pillar that holds my life.

Master Jesus, you are the Pillar that holds my life.

Master Jesus, you are the Pillar that holds my life.

TEXT.

*And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence*.- Colossians  1:17-18

One thing I have discovered in my work with God in these few years of my knowing Him, is that He never forces Himself on anybody. He has made us free moral agents. Allowing us to make our choices as per what we want and what we do not want. Unlike Satan and his agents who force themselves on people; intruding into places where they are not at all invited or wanted.

God waits for us to willingly invite Him into our lives before He comes in.

*Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me*. - Revelation  3:20

His presence in our lives brings great and awesome things which are beyond comprehension. Jesus' visit to Peter's house brought healing to the mother in-law (Matthew 8:14-15),

His presence at the wedding in Cana of Galilee prevented shame and disgrace that was looming around the celebrants. (John 2:1-10)

Jairus' daughter was brought to life from death by his visit to Jairus home. (Mark 5:38-42)

The home of Martha and Mary also experienced joy and happiness by the reason of His visit. (John 11:43-44)

It is very expedient that you give Him your life. Let Him be the Master of your soul and you will experience the beauty of His awesome presence.

Many believers still try to fill up their void lives with achievements, wealth, or relationships. When aspirations like these are given higher priority than the Lord, it becomes a form of idolatry.

Our society teaches us that pleasure, prosperity, position, and popularity will make us happy. But living in the service of self always leaves an emptiness no earthly reward can fill. Besides, worldly philosophy can never stand the test of time.

The temple, though richly beautified, but without the ark was like a body without a soul, or a candlestick without a candle, or (to speak more properly) a house without an inhabitant. All the cost and pains bestowed on this stately structure are lost if God does not accept them. Unless and until it becomes the place where He dwells and called by His name, it is after all but an ordinary building. When all the work was completed (1 Kings 7:51), the one thing needed to be done was the bringing in of the ark, a type of Jesus, which was the main reason for setting up the structure.

"Tells us that Jesus is the Head of the body. Therefore, He alone, in every respect should occupy the chief place in our lives." -Col.1:18.

If Jesus is not first in our lives then we need to rearrange our priorities.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for being everything to me. Help me to set my priorities aright, putting you on top of my list even as I draw my scale of preference in Jesus Mighty name.
