HOPE IN GOD

SONG

My Lord, who never fails

Let me hide in You

Let me hide in You

In You, there is Power

TEXT

"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us." (Romans 5 verse 5,)

To hope or to trust in God may be difficult for some people, especially those that have never had an experience of Him. To such people, the question might be: "How can I trust Someone that I have never seen or known before?" And what is more, with the numerous problems everywhere calling for urgent attention, "are you telling me to trust or to hope in Whom I don't know?" "l don't think I can settle for such counsel", they often say..

These and more can be the reactions or responses of those that have never known God. The truth is that we can not blame them for such responses because, as far as they are concerned, they never have had a relationship with God, let alone experiencing Him. But to know and to  experience the Lord begins with a simple step of faith in Him over a little situation of life.

Unless and until you begin to put your faith and trust in God, you might not experience Him. The Bible encourages us to approach God saying, "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him." (Psalms 34 verse 8).

As you learn to trust the Lord, beginning with little issues of life, in the course of time, He enables you to experience His faithfulness, so you may learn to hope in Him. The Psalmist says in Psalm 130 verse 7, "O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is unfailing love and an overflowing supply of salvation".

Certainly, we have tasted and seen that God cannot fail those that trust and hope in Him (Romans 10 verse 11). Our hope in the Lord is anchored in His truth and faithfulness. The Bible says that with God, there's no variableness or shadow of turning (James 1 verse 17). The intent here is that He is always the same, at all seasons of the year, and in all ages; there is no change in his character, his mode of being, his purposes and plans. He is "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever " (Hebrews 13 verse 8). This Scripture clearly asserts God's immutability and sameness in the past, the present, and to all eternity. For this simple reason, He's to be trusted and hoped on.

What's more, our hope in God is one that "maketh not ashamed;" (Romans 5 verse 5, King James Version). In other words, “Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us," (Romans 5 verse 5, Amplified Version). We have numerous instances in the Bible where men of old put their trust in God and He came through for them, in spite of the seeming hopelessness of their life's situations.

The same God is coming through for you today, notwithstanding what you are going through, in Jesus name. No matter how dark the clouds may be, they will surely clear off with abundant rain of blessings and you will shine for all to see with God's glory upon your life, in Jesus name.

PRAYER :

Precious Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness towards me and my family. Our hope in You shall surely result in huge testimonies, in Jesus' Mighty name.
