TEXT
"As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country." - Proverbs Chapter 25 verse 25.
The Gospel is called the Good news of the Kingdom It is like cold water to a thirsty soul and food to a hungry soul; a solution to every problem and an answer to every question.
The message of the Cross which is called the Gospel, is a message of salvation (mercy and pardon). When we embrace the mercy that the Gospel offers, we are bound to feel its power. When that power touches our hearts, we are changed in our inner souls. Jesus came so that the world would be saved through His sacrifice on the Cross.
God did not send His son to this sinful world to condemn it, but rather to save it.
"...For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John chapter 3 verse 16 to 17)
Amazingly, God sent Jesus to this earth to live among sinners, and to eventually reconcile them unto Him. Jesus showed the world the love of God. He lived, ate with sinners and gave them the opportunity to be saved and set free through His name.
The Bible also says “there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit;” (Romans chapter 8 verse 1).
The Gospel has shown us the full demonstration of Christ's love towards us, losing us from those things that imprisoned us. In the book of John chapter 8 verse 36 the Bible also says that "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." Yes, if the Son makes us free, we shall be free indeed!
Jesus Christ is the only One who can redeem us, forgive our sins, and fill the vacuum in our thirsty and hungry souls.
The Word of God is life and health to our bodies! Its transforming power changes the circumstances of our lives. As we dwell upon it, the result is enormous! Yes, "He sent his word, healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalms 107 stanza 20).
