GOD'S WORD IS LIKE A COMPASS ( Part 2)

SONG

Jesus, show me the way. I am ready to follow.

Jesus, show me the way. I am ready to follow.

TEXT:

"The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." (Psalm 32 verse 8, New Living Translation)

God's Word is indeed a compass unto the soul, guiding it through the paths of life, including the dangerous and the uncharted  pathway of life. As God's Children, the Holy Scriptures serve to illuminate our pathway through the darkness of this world.

The question is, have you been resorting to God's Word for illumination when your path of life seems obscured? Do you make God’s Word your first point of consideration in times when you know not what to do?

The Scripture reading for today says,

"The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." (Psalm 32 verse 8, New Living Translation).

The Lord is the Good Shepherd (John 10 verse 10). He leads His flock beside the still waters, restoring their souls, ensuring that they have peace and that they are well catered for. (Psalm 23 verse 2).

To be taught of the Lord is a very precious thing, but to effectively harness its value, we need to possess a submissive heart.  Many a time, trials, temptations and tribulations becloud our ways, causing the heart to tremble and to wander, seeking direction from sources that aren't right for us as God's children. At such moments, we will do ourselves great good by turning to the Word of God, trusting that the Good Shepherd will lead us unto the right path to take.

At such times, the heart must seek refuge in the embrace of the Almighty through His Word, for He is a Stronghold in the day of trouble (Nahum 1 verse 7) and a very present Help in trouble ( Psalm 46 verse 1).

The Holy Scriptures are like sacred maps, providing directions, wisdom, and solace to the weary soul. When we are faced with uncertainty, it's wise that we take refuge in the Lord, and to draw near to Him in prayer in order for Him to show us what to do. What's more, He has promised to be near unto those who call to Him in truth (Psalms 145 verse 18).

As we seek His guidance, we will have our lives properly directed and structured unto fulfillment, in Jesus' Mighty name.

PRAYER:

Lord, teach me Your Way that I do not miss it in life, in Jesus' Mighty name.
