"And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain." (Exodus chapter 3 verse 12)
God's faithfulness to His Word can not be overemphasized. He is the God that speaks and watches over His Word to bring it to pass.
With God “...is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (James chapter 1 verse 17)
Whatever God's attributes were of old, they are the same even now. His power, His wisdom, His justice, His truth are alike and unchanged. Hallelujah!
When God called Moses out of the burning bush, He gave him a token that the people of Israel would worship Him on top of the mountain. When Moses eventually brought the people of Israel out of Egypt, the people indeed worshiped God upon the very mountain that God told Moses about.
In Mathew chapter 14 verse 22, Jesus also gave His disciples a token when He told them to get into the boat and go to the other side. I love the New Living Translation of the verse which says, "Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd."
The Gospel of Mark also has it in this tone:
"And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side." (Mark chapter 4 verse 35)
It was very certain that Jesus would meet with them on the other side.
The token is that they would meet on the other side; so that no matter what challenges they faced on the way, it would not swallow them up, but that they would scale through. Hallelujah!
What has God said about you this year, or what has He said concerning your life generally? 'Get a token'! As for our own commission, the TOKEN is that 2024 is the year of NEW THINGS. In your own commission, what grace are you running with in the year 2024?
Get to know what God has said concerning you. Someone said this, "Your right to covenant mercies lies not in your growth, but in the covenant itself; and your faith in Jesus is not the measure, but the token of your inheritance in him."
Get the knowledge of what God is saying concerning you and what He has done for you in Christ Jesus and run with it. Don't be ignorant of God's Word for you because ignorance can result in your destruction (Hosea chapter 4 verse 6). May this not be our case, in Jesus name.
PRAYER:
Your Word O Lord, concerning me this year shall not fail in Jesus' Mighty name.
