FIX YOUR EYES ON THE LORD

TEXT:

"I have set the LORD always before me: because He is at my right hand, l shall not be moved" (Psalms 16 verse 8, King James Version).

Nothing moves God! He is the immovable Mover, the unchangeable Changer! God wants us to be like Him. He is taken aback when He sees His Children intimidated by seemingly adverse circumstances of life. God is ever in control of all and He is never controlled by any!

As God's children, and having been made in His image and likeness, nothing ought to move us like Him. This can only be so because we have continued to put our faith in Him, notwithstanding the enormity of the circumstances that are arrayed against us in life! The result is that when other men are cast down by life's circumstances, we experience a lifting up (Job 22 verse 29).

The Psalmist long discovered the path to being like God. It came from setting the Lord always before him, having Him always at his right hand. The Lord was the Object of his gaze; and nothing else, no matter how big or pressing the other object or circumstance was. Experience has shown that "what you look at longest becomes strongest in your life".

Jacob made Laban's flocks to gaze at rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, and before long, they gave birth to species, ringstraked, speckled, and spotted (see Genesis 30 verse 43).

Moses' stay with God in the mountain for forty days and forty nights resulted in God's glory robbing off on him (see Exodus 34 verses 28 to 29). The Bible says that " ... we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2nd Corinthians 3 verse 18). This is the secret of becoming and functioning like God. As you continue to behold God's glory (His Word), the Spirit of the Lord changes you into the same image of the Word, from glory to glory. Hallelujah!

Set the Lord before you, set His Word before you and you will be amazed at what you'll find.

PRAYER:

I'm on the move, from one level of God's glory to the other as I continually set the Lord before my eyes, in Jesus' Mighty name.
