BLESSED TO BE A BLESSING (PART 1)
"...God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance" - Genesis 45:7
"...and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" - Esther 4:14
So many people find themselves in a position of responsibility and yet do not know or understand the reason God put them there. This is most unfortunate. I make bold to say that any one who finds himself lifted and thinks primarily of himself as the focus of attention has a misconceived view of the reason for being there! HEAR ME, AND HEAR ME WELL, YOUR BIG LIFT BY GOD IS PRINCIPALLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS! The earlier you know this, the better it is for you.
In the first place, we must understand that God is a 'people oriented' Being and like as it's being often said, we are "lead pencils in the Hand of the Creator" to write or rewrite episodes in the lives of others. This is the mind of God and blessed is that fellow who knows and understands it thus. Furthermore, we need to know that we are stewards and that we hold our positions of responsibility in TRUST for others; and in this respect, we shall be called to account to God for how we have fared with it. The Bible puts it thus: "... it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful " (1 Corinthians 4:2).
Joseph, the erstwhile Prime-Minister of Egypt understood this principle very well. He had good reasons to be angry at his brothers' cruelty toward him, but rather than focusing on that, he saw God's Holy Hand in the circumstances of his life; he knew that his lift to the position of value, prominence and responsibility was for the benefit of others; i.e, his brothers, the Egyptians and the entire world as it then was. Reassuring his brothers of his love for them after the death of Jacob, their father, he said: "... God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance ". What a mind!
In the case of Queen Esther, it took the like of Mordecai to remind her of this noble principle of heaven that she was elevated to authority to render service to her people, the Jews, who were in danger of annihilation by wicked Haman. Hear him: "... if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place...and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14). Stop considering yourself for yourself only; but begin to consider yourself for others.
Friend, God has raised me up today to remind you, like Mordecai did to Queen Esther, that YOUR BIG LIFT BY GOD IS PRINCIPALLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF OTHERS and to let you know in addition that perhaps, you have come to prominence "for such a time as this". This is the key to the fulfillment of purpose, preservation and further elevation by God. May it be so with you in Jesus name. SHALOM!
PRAYER:
Dearest Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me that I'm blessed to bless others. I confess that I'm blessed so I can be a blessing to others, in Jesus' mighty name.
