A NEW SONG IN YOUR MOUTH.
SONG:
Jesus is the Rock.
The only Rock of Ages
All other rocks are sinking sand
Jesus is the Rock.
The only Rock of Ages
All other rocks are sinking sand
TEXT:
"I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." (Psalm 40 verses 1 to 3).
I want to bless God for the life of the Psalmist, especially the one that penned down this particular chapter in the book of Psalms. According to the Scripture reading for today, he waited patiently, which means that the answer to his request did not come quickly, yet he doubted not but believed that it would come, and resolved to continue believing, and hoping, and praying till it did come.
For us Christians, it is true that we have to endure some moments of trials, but it is also true that we are delivered out of them all.
"Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all." (Psalms 34 verse 19)
It will also interest us to know that we have an all-sufficient Saviour who overcame all for us and delivered us from every satanic dominion. The more our challenges or troubles, the greater the availability of God's power to deliver and the louder should be our thanks to God Almighty, who has promised to lead us through all, and to preserve us unto the end.
The Psalmist did not give up on God, he persistently waited until he got what he wanted. "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." (Mark 11 verse 24).
Our God gives us victory. What we believe is what works in our lives. When we believe in positive things, that is what happens to us.
Those whose expectations are from God can wait with assurance but must wait with patience and also with the right and positive attitude, in readiness to receive what they desire.
Verse 3 of our main Scripture for the day says, "And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD."
God will surely put a new song in our mouths and many shall see it and fear, and shall trust in the LORD, in Jesus' mighty name
Let us not be like some Christians out there who are prone to looking on the dark side of everything, dwelling more upon what they have gone through than upon what God has done for them.
I, in particular, have chosen to be more grateful for what God has done for me than dwelling on what He has not done; and being optimistic and positive in my attitude over every situation. Let this be your attitude and you'll be sure to see more of God's goodness, in Jesus name.
PRAYER:
Thank You, Heavenly Father for You have done great things for me, whereof I am glad and I know that You are doing much more in Jesus Mighty name.
