"And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people." - Exod.13:21
Our God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. He is the Ancient of days, the Beginning and the End. He changes not. What He did yesteryears, He is able to do again and again.
When the children of Israel left Egypt and were on their way to the Promised Land, God's presence and power were highly demonstrated in their lives. The Bible says in our Bible reading for today, “And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire….”
The divine presence of God gave them protection, provision, and care all through the journey of forty years
The people of Israel were the chosen of God, even as me and you are the chosen of God. Indeed, God would do anything for His chosen, and He would never allow anything to happen to their detriment.
Despite the fact that they were in the desert, where there was no supermarket to buy food or departmental stores to buy clothes. God sustained them by meeting them at every point of their needs. Hallelujah!
Their clothes did not wear out on them, neither did their sandals wear out on their feet. This is extraordinary!
"And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot." - Deut.29:5.
The same God takes care of you and I today and forevermore. His presence is ever with you today, and forever more.
The people of God were not scorched by the sun in the day, and neither were they attacked by wild animals by night. The pillar of fire kept them warm at night, while the pillar of cloud and smoke kept them from the heat of the sun. Thus, all through the forty years in the wilderness, God's people were under a special atmosphere both in the day and at night. What an amazing experience it was with them!
No matter what is going on all over the world today, we are carriers of a different atmosphere. What befall others do not befall us because of the special grace the Lord has bestowed on us.
We are carriers of a better and a glorious atmosphere, such as the atmosphere of peace, divine protection, divine provision, favor, etc.
PRAYER
Thank You, Lord Jesus, for my security is squarely in You. Therefore, I shall not be moved in Jesus' Mighty name.
