YOU CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON GOD. [Part 4]

SONG

You are too faithful to fail me, You are too faithful to disappoint me.

You've proven yourself in my life, and I've come to realize

You are too faithful to fail me

TEXT

“Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it” - 1 Thessalonians 5:24.

From the Bible reading this morning, it says faithful is He who  called us, who will also do it. God is not unfaithful, He is not unkind, He is not unmerciful, He is not unjust to allow the enemy to make a caricature of His beloved child that you are.

I may not know the area or office to which God has called you. Whether into a full-time ministry, part-time ministry, laymen ministry, or perhaps, as an ordinary church member. I may not also know what you are going through at the moment, but one thing is certain: God is faithful.

As Bible students, we have come to understand by God's Word that all who are in union with Him are safe; that everyone who has committed his life to Christ shall find Him faithful and just. By this great assurance, we are certain of security because none who believe in Him shall ever perish, see shame but shall have everlasting life.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John  3:16.

No matter what we may be experiencing right now or what we may face in life; the One who has called us is known to be faithful to the end. This can be recalled from the "b" part of our today’s reading, which says, "....who also will do it”. In other words, God is ever ready and will surely come to your aid because His integrity is at stake over your life.

It is said in the book of Heb.6.18, "So God has given us both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can take new courage, for we can hold on to his promise with confidence." [NLT].

Wow! Those of us who have fled to God for refuge from the City of Destruction, as Christian called it in the Pilgrim's Progress, can take new courage and hold on to the promise with confidence. Hallelujah!

The King James translation also has it in this manner

"That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:" - Heb.6.18

Truth is that with God there is neither variableness nor shadow of turning (James 1:17).

As believers, let us reflect often with joy on the faithfulness of our God by putting total confidence in His Word.

If you can believe with unwavering faith that “faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it", you will always find it so.

PRAYER

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for calling me unto Yourself. You are faithful to do all things for me in Jesus' Mighty name.
