TEXT:

"When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?" (Matthew 16 verse 13)

To so many of us, Jesus

is just an idea; some also see the Bible as a list of dos and don’ts, a doctrine, or a cause. But if I may ask, who is Jesus to you, and what is the Word of God to you? Do you see Jesus and His Word as most paramount in your life?

Can you boldly and confidently say of Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior? Can you say to Jesus, "Lord, I need You, and I want You, I want to know You better than I know anyone in my life, among my family members, my closest friends, and even better than I know myself"

It's very important that we have a living relationship with Jesus, such that we can sit next to Him in fellowship, asking Him those numerous questions that flood our minds and hearts. Towards this end, let's take steps to grow our relationship with Jesus, the Lord. What's more, He gives us an unfettered access to the Father and all of His graces.

God is delighted to have us relate with Him in such a personal way. Indeed, He created us for fellowship. He is ever seeking for man to come unto Him. In the book of Genesis 3 verse 9, we see God seeking out for Adam. "And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?"

Since the fall of man in the garden, that intimate relationship became strained. To restore us back to fellowship with Him is one of the reasons Jesus came. With the veil to the Holy of Holies torn, we have been counseled to "come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need." (Hebrews 4 verse 16). With this, we should be able to go to God and say, "Lord, I need Your help, Your grace, Your mercy. I can’t help myself."

Our God is a loving Father, He cares very much about us. Let us bring all our cares to Him. He will not by any means cast us away. Jesus reiterated this point in the book of Matthew 11 verse 28, when He said, "Come unto me, all ye that l and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

Jesus Christ specializes in giving rest over situations of life. The rest He gives is unlike the type the world gives, which is often momentary. Jesus is able to give you rest here on Earth over all your toils and at the same time give the much cherished eternal rest; which is the hope of every believer.

Our God intends rest for us as His children. That was why He intentionally put all our burdens upon His beloved Son, Jesus Christ and nailed them to the Cross for us.  Soon afterwards, Jesus said, "IT IS FINISHED."

I therefore invite you to come to Jesus, and He will put an end to your troubles, disappointments, and failures, etc.  Come to Jesus, and He will turn your sorrows into joy!

PRAYER

Thank You Father for Your unfailing love towards me and my family. I pray that it never will cease, in Jesus Mighty name.
