Bind us together, LORD
Bind us together with cords that can not be broken
Bind us together, LORD
Bind us together, LORD
Bind us together with love
TEXT
"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!..." - Psalms 133:1-2
There is power in corporate worship. When we come together as Christians, we glorify God. Our togetherness serves to strengthen one another and help us to endure and push through the different challenges that we face. Let us not shy away from our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Rather, we should take time to meet together, pray together, and praise God together. The Bible says, in verse 2. "It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;" (Ps 133)
The intimate connection with one another is best summed up in what is called "fellowship".
Where there is no friendship, there can be no fellowship. There can be no fellowship if two persons are at variance. When we come together in fellowship and in prayer, the result is usually great. Unity in the Body of Christ is power.
"And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech." - Genesis 11:6-7.
It is very good for us to be in one mind and purpose, if we want to see great results.
These people were not believers, yet they were able to achieve much. "And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do." These people did not have a Bible, neither did they have a Pastor, but what they had was oneness. Unity in the Church or Body of Christ will enable us to achieve God's given purpose here on earth.
"Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ." - Gal.6.2.
Unity demands that we contribute to help one another, either in words or in kind
The greatest mark of identification of the Christian is LOVE. This was the main reason why Christ came, and it's expected of us to do the same.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, I pray that You keep us together in one Spirit and one mind to the end so that we can produce much results in Jesus Mighty name.
