THE WORD OF GOD IS LIFE TO OUR SPIRIT. [Part 2]

SONG

 Something more than gold

Something more than silver

The Spirit of God in the hearts of men

It's something more than gold.

TEXT

"And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Roman chapter 12 verse.2 -

Our Scripture reading for today  encourages us not to be conformed to the standard of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. When we read and meditate upon the Word of God, it renews our minds, enabling us to set our priorities well. This makes us put God and the things of God above and ahead of all other things.

As we grow spiritually, we are expected to focus our minds on godly values and to do our best to believe the things that are pleasing to Him. Having His Word as the object of our focus serves to renew our mind and our perspective.

The book of Joshua chapter1 verse 8  says "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

When we focus our hearts on His Word and not on the things of the world, it brings to mind His awesome presence, His divine power, and His plans and purposes for our lives. God's Word serves to remind us of what is truly important to our lives and also how much God loves and cares for us. His love for us makes us know that He’s with us in every step, every breath, even on hard days and on soft days.

Incorporating the Word of God into our everyday life, serves as a comforting reminder of who Christ is, what He has done for us and all that He is in the process of doing for us that love Him.

"My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.

For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh." (Proverbs chapter 4 verse 20 to 22).

It's great to have God’s Word readily available in our spirit, and to be ready to  proclaim it. Then we have what’s needed to resist the enemy and to stand firm against his attacks.

PRAYER:

The light of God's Word has lightened up my Spirit and is making me an epitome of His glory in Jesus’ Name.
