THE NAME OF JESUS.
SONG:
The Name of Jesus, higher than other names
King of all kings, no other name like His
The Name of Jesus, higher than other names
Alpha and Omega, no other name like His
TEXT:
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts chapter 4 verse 12)
There are many names among men that attract fame and respect but, in actual fact, do not possess the power and ability to deliver or to save souls.
There are also many religions out there that claim to have power to do wonders but can not settle or bring reconciliation between God and man. It's only in Christ Jesus that all these can be found. The Name of Jesus has been packaged to deliver whatsoever we can ever ask or think. It is the only Name under heaven given among men whereby we can be saved. The Name of Jesus is the only Name by which we can have access to God and plead all our causes.
The Bible saying, "Neither is there salvation in any other..." This is to mean, there is no other way by which a sinful soul can be saved. Still, neither is there any other name by which illnesses or diseases can be healed, nor any oppressed soul can be delivered. "There is no salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts chapter 4 verse 12). It's worthy of note that the word salvation is all encompassing. It includes prosperity, deliverance, healing, preservation and what have you.
The name of Jesus has been conferred with authority and power in the three worlds of heaven, the earth and beneath the earth. The Bible says in Philippians 2 verses 10 to 11,
"That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
This means angels, men, and demons must bow to the Name of Jesus. This is awesome and wonderful. The Name of Jesus has been given under heaven among men, particularly the Church, His Body to secure salvation, deliverance, healing, etc for those in need. The Name of Jesus belongs to the Church, the Body of Christ!
According to Ephesians 1 verses 21 to 23, "[The Lord Jesus and His Name are] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the CHURCH, Which is his body, the fullness of him that filleth all in all.’ (emphasis added).
I have been privileged to put the Name of Jesus to use during deliverance and healing sessions in our ministry and I attest to the wonderful working power that the Name of Jesus bears. Indeed, at Jesus Christ, every knee bows as the Bible says!
Like as I said, the Name of Jesus has been given for the use of the Church, His Body. It's amazing that Jesus has not used that Name once! There has never been any indication in the Bible that Jesus Himself ever used His Name while He was here on earth. Truth is, He had no need to use the Name! This is because, like God the Father, the Lord Jesus rules creation by His Word, because He is equal with Him.
Jesus conquered the world, including its rulers and at resurrection, He attests saying, in Matthew 28 verse 18,
"All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth."
In Luke 10 verse 19, long before He went to the Cross, He made it clear that the Church would be the beneficiary of His victory over the world and its powers, saying,
"Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
That conquering and overcoming power that Jesus handed to the Church is embedded in His Wonderful Name.
Hallelujah!
Have you ever had occasion to use the Name Jesus?
PRAYER:
Thank You dear Lord Jesus for the gift of Your Name to the Church for my use. I return all the honor and the glory to You for the testimonies that result from the use of Your Name.
