TEXT

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;" (Psalms 63 stanza 1)

For us Christians, prayer is a sacred communion between us and our Father God. By it we enjoy the privilege to express ourselves to Him through worship, thanksgiving, adoration, intercession, etc.

The Scripture reading for today says,

"O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;" (Psalms 63 stanza 1)

Here, the Psalmist was using his personal experience to instruct us on communion with God. He had the habit of waking up early to seek the Lord. Impliedly, as the sun rises every morning, so should our hearts be lifted in prayer every morning unto our God.  By this, we find instruction, guidance, assurance and strength to live through the day as His children.

The Lord Jesus Christ, our Great Example was a man of prayer. He was fond of finding solitary environments to commune with His Father. The Bible says in the book of Matthew 14 verse 23,

"And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone."

Like I said, the Lord Jesus is our perfect example. He made prayer an integral part of His life while He was here on earth. Any wonder that He was a thoroughly fulfilled man? Do you want to experience fulfillment in life? Then, make prayer an indispensable part of you.

In my previous message, I tried to make us understand that prayer is a key part of the Christian faith.

I've heard someone say, "If only people can pray, then there's a God to answer prayers."

Glory to God for assuring us that He will not ignore our prayers. The Lord Jesus, in the  book  Matthew 7 verse 7, told us saying,

"Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

As we persist in asking, seeking, and knocking, we are assured that we will not be ignored by our God.

In Luke 18 verses 2 to 3, we saw how the widow in that parable persistently sought justice from the unjust judge. In spite of the fact that the judge neither feared God nor regarded man, her unwavering faith and ceaseless supplication did not go unheeded.

In the same manner, our ceaseless and unwavering  prayer of faith can never go unheeded. We can be rest assured that they will come with undeniable answers, in Jesus name.

 PRAYER:

Precious Father, I thank You for heeding to my cry and giving me testimonies, in Jesus' Mighty name.
