THE EARLY AND LATTER RAIN. (Part 2)
SONG
It is raining, all around me,
I can feel it, the latter rain
Ride on Jesus, give us more rain, until we are soaked and until we are drowned in the latter rain.
TEXT:
"And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken." (Genesis 21 verse 1)
In my previous message, I stated that "the early and the latter rain," is an indication of God's visitation unto His people, to better their situations. Abraham was a very good friend of God. He was a blessed man, but there was no complete joy and happiness in his home. There was the issue of having an heir, in other words, a biological child.
Our Scripture reading this morning says, "And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken."
The visitation of God to Sarah, the wife of Abraham, brought joy and happiness to the family and the home. I prophesy that the Lord will visit you soon, in Jesus name.
God’s constant desire is to see His children happy and joyous. The adverse situations we see in our lives came as a result of the fall of man as well as man's rejection of God and His way.
Man's disobedience to God’s instructions in the garden of Eden altered the original plans of God for humanity, which also brought about the many problems of the world today.
Man has always loved to go his own way rather than following God. That's the reason we are seeing all we see today. Man's sin and its consequences have estranged him from God, his Creator. The book of Romans 3 verse 23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
But God is ever merciful, gracious and loving. He has not allowed man to remain in his deplorable and despicable state of disobedience and damnation. He's made a way of escape for man, through the atoning work of Jesus Christ on the Cross of Calvary.
The book of First Peter 2 verse 24 has this to say,
"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:"
In other words, Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself and atoned for them, to the end that we might be reconciled to God. One of the reasons for doing this is that we might have life and that we might have it more abundantly (see John 10 verse 10). All of this and much more belongs to anyone who accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
If you already are in Christ, be comforted and remain steadfast and unmovable in your faith! The good news that I am sharing with you this morning is that the Lord God Almighty is visiting you and all that's yours very shortly, in order to restore peace and joy to your life and your home. God's goodness and blessings represented by "the early and the latter rain" (combined) are coming on you in abundance, in Jesus' Mighty name.
PRAYER:
Oh Lord, I thank you because it is my turn to joy, rejoice and celebrate, in Jesus name.
