THE DEW FROM HEAVEN [ Part 2]

SONG

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.

Break me, mold me, fill me, and use me.

Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me.

TEXT

"Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:...   Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest." - Isaiah 32:13-15.

Many a time in the land of Judah, the people engaged in sinful conduct that provoked the Holy One of Israel and He brought judgement upon them. As it's usually the case, God's judgement brought unpleasant circumstances, whereas, the people had lived in pleasure and quietness.

The situation changed from good times to bad times. God’s people could not find things easy any longer.

"Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city:" - Isaiah 32:13

This can be linked to what we see happening in our country today. Today, things have become unbearable to virtually everyone in the land.  Nevertheless, like the people of Judah, there is good news for someone reading this devotional this morning.

With Judah, God in His mercies had to intervene. To restore the blessed times upon the people, God sent His Spirit from on high. His purpose for doing this was not only to effect His goodwill towards them, but also that the Spirit might do some good work  in them.

Whenever God desires favors for His people, He pours out his Spirit, both to prepare them to receive His favors and to qualify them for use as instruments of His favor for the good of His people, the Church.

The Bible says, "Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest." - Isaiah 32:15.

What a wonderful change for the people and as well for the land in which they live. That which was a wilderness, that was dry and barren, should become a fruitful field, and that which was reckoned as a fruitful field, should now be counted for a forest. Hallelujah!

Child of God, It doesn't matter how deplorable your situation is in life. We recollect the Spirit's influence and work on the earth at creation. The Bible says that "the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." (Gen 1:2). It's certain that without the Spirit's move on the formless earth, there couldn't be the much desired change of its formless and void circumstances. So it is with us.

The Holy Spirit, the Dew from Heaven is God's Agent of change! Everything He touches, though dead, becomes alive; though stunted in growth, increases and multiplies; though ugly and formless, becomes beautiful and glorious, etc.

Whatever ugly situation that you find yourself today can be changed if only you can embrace God's Spirit in your life. He is surely able to make the wilderness unto a fruitful field, and the fruitful field to be counted for a forest. (Isaiah 32:15). Will you give Him a trial today in your life? You will surely not regret it!

PRAYER.

O Lord, let me have the gentle, silent, saturating Dew of Heaven over my life, every second of my being that my wilderness might become a fruitful field and my fruitful field be counted for a forest, in Jesus' Mighty name.
