THE BENEFIT OF GOING TO CHURCH

SONG

Come to the Springs of Living Water,

flowing from the Heart of God.

TEXT

"And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus." (Mark 10 verse 50).

Do you know that by going to church, you cast behind your  problems to meet with Jesus?

Like blind Bartimaeus cast away his garment to meet with Jesus, you too can leave behind the burdens and distractions of the world, to seek the presence of the Lord in His house. In other words, going to Church is akin to leaving behind the familiar and casting aside burdens, doubts, fears, and worldly concerns to meet with Jesus.

Indeed, the journey to the church is but a step towards the divine, a bold move to approach the Savior who calls each of us by name to Himself. What garment(s) are you casting away today so that you may draw nearer to Christ? Blind Bartimaeus did cast away the garment of sickness, stagnation, poverty, and blindness in order to gain his sight and many more and above all, to follow Christ.

Many people are wearing garments, the burden of which serves to distract and weigh down their efforts to draw near to the Lord for salvation and for rest. (Matthew 11 verses 28 to  30).

There are some whose visions have been clouded by doubt ( Hebrews 11 verse 6). Some others, it's the matter of resentment that has bound their spirits.

Another, it is the worry of the future or the weight of past mistakes that is hindering their walk with the Lord. (Matthew 6 verses 31 to 32).

As Bartimaeus cast off his cloak to meet with Jesus, so you and I can cast away all the burdens of life that weighs us down to seek Jesus whose yoke is easy and whose burden light. Having done this, I can assure you that you will find rest for your soul, in Jesus name.

PRAYER:

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for making everything available in Christ Jesus. As I come unto You, I receive all can ever ask or seek in Jesus Mighty name.
