REWARD AFTER STRUGGLES [Part 4]

SONG

Continue to work, and never be weary,

Continue to work, and never be weary.

TEXT

"Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:...Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest." (Proverbs chapter 6 verse 6 - 8).

The ant is a very diligent, busy, active, and productive insect. It is one of the smallest creatures but renders some of the greatest lessons of life to humanity. It's known to be busy gathering food and finding shelter for itself and others. It prepares itself against the days ahead, especially during the winter.

The Word of God this morning has enlightened our understanding about this wonderful creature, though small in nature, yet full of great virtues. God desires that we be diligent, active, and productive like the ant.  The ant is ever working to ensure that it provides for its needs against the days of rest.

The Bible says that the ant "Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest." (Proverbs chapter 6 verse 8)

No wonder the Bible says to "Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:" (Proverbs chapter 6 verse 6).

Slothfulness, which in other words is laziness, is an act of disobedience to the Word of God, who created us to be fruitful. The Book of Romans 12 verse 11 tells us not to be slothful in business; but fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.

Like the ant, we've got to be diligent in all that we do. It's said in the Bible [Ecclesiastes 3 verses 1 to 3] That there is a time for everything under the sun. There is a time to work and a time to rest. This is to say that there's a time to go to school and to work hard so that we can come out with outstanding results and then enjoy the fruits of our labor.

Jesus, our perfect Example, did the Father's work while it was day, so that when night came He could rest.  He said,

"I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work." (John chapter 9 verse 4).

When we choose to be lazy, that means we are guilty of idleness and wastefulness, which results in the squandering of time and gifts that have been bestowed on us (1st Peter 4 verse 10).

When we work at the right time, we would have enough time to enjoy the reward that comes following. Hallelujah!

PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful and just to reward me in every of my endeavor, in Jesus' Mighty name.
