IT'S TIME TO MOVE FORWARD (Part 2)
SONG
He is able, abundantly able
To deliver and to save
God is able, abundantly able
To deliver those who trust in Him.
TEXT
"And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?
If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there." (Second Kings chapter 7 verses 3 to 5)
In everyone's life, there is always a moment of decision-making. It's usually a very crucial moment in our lives. Whatever one decides to do at this moment will set the tone of that person's life. This must be meticulously and consciously done with the help of the Holy Spirit.
From our reading for today, the four lepers said to one another, "...Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die." (Second Kings chapter 7 verse 4)
It's worthy of note that the decision of these four lepers at that critical moment brought about the deliverance of the entire nation.
There was probably a time in our lives when we experienced some fear of venturing into some activities. At such times, when we eventually decided to step out in faith with the help of the Holy Spirit for direction, the Lord came through for us mightily. Hallelujah!
To refuse or fail to take decisions on matters that affect us can result in setbacks and delays in our lives. Until we break loose from the shell of fear and stagnation and launch forward, we may not be able to experience noticeable victories and the fulfillment of the fullness of God's promises and purposes concerning our lives.
For instance, the prodigal son decided to do something about the situation he found himself in.
"I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee" (Luke chapter 15 verse 18).
Like the prodigal son, the time is calling for us to return to our great and merciful God and Father who has promised to heal us. (Hosea chapter 6 verse 1). In this regard, there's no room for delay. Our God is always ready to welcome home every one of His children who decides to return home. His arms are widely opened to embrace such a child with pomp. The Lord Jesus intimated in Luke 15 verse 7 saying,
"I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, ... "
PRAYER
Thank You Heavenly Father for Your unending love and mercy towards me. I'm glad and grateful that no matter how far I have strayed, You are always ready to have me back.
