I WILL BE WITH THEE! (PART 2)
SONG
I am not alone, I am not alone,
I am with my darling Jesus.
I am not alone
TEXT:
"There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." (Joshua 1 verse 5).
The Almighty God declared in the book of Deuteronomy 31 verse 6, to Moses, "I will not leave thee nor forsake thee." Just as He was with Moses through the wilderness, so too He's with us in our trials and tribulations in life.
Our Scripture verse this morning was God's Word of assurance unto Joshua as the mantle of leadership rested upon his shoulders. God is saying the same to someone reading this devotional, that He is likewise with you, in Jesus name. You don't need to fret over that situation you are going through. All you need is His presence, and that settles it all.
Our God is a good God, His words are sacrosanct. There is no shadow of turning with Him (see James 1 verse 17). In Malachi 3 verse 6, God affirms that He changes not. It's a great privilege therefore, to have the One who can not change to be our Savior. All things else may change or may be changing, but God doesn't change. The sun itself might grow dim with time, the world may be waxing old, and even the heavens and earth may soon pass away. All may perish or wax old as garments. In this regard, we should remind ourselves constantly that the One we are dealing with is One whose years have no end, and in whose Person there is no change or shadow of turning. This is what makes our confidence to be more secure and assured. Hallelujah!
Whatever God's attributes were of old, they are equally so now. His power, His wisdom, His justice, His truth, are alike unchanged. He has ever and always been the refuge of his people, their stronghold in the day of trouble, and He is their sure Helper still. Also, He is unchanged in His love. He has loved his people with “an everlasting" love. When all earthly things shall have melted on the last day, His love and His presence will forever remain.
In times of uncertainty therefore, remember that He has promised to be with you. In other words, be assured always of His presence.
Consider what the book of Hebrews 13 verse 5 says,
"Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
PRAYER
Thank You, Heavenly Father, for the assurance of Your presence at all times in Jesus' Mighty name.
