SONG

For we are saying, faithful are You Lord,

faithful are You Lord, faithful are You Lord. Faithful.

TEXT:

"And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king. And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?" (Second Kings chapter 6 verses 26 to 27)

Let no one deceive you, by asking you to seek help from any other source than God. Your help is never in the hands of any man or woman nor is it in any other source.

We can truly find help, strength, grace and ability to go on with the challenges of life in God. Therefore, it is good we put all our confidence and trust in this great and wonderful God.

From our Scripture reading for today, the Bible says, "there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king."

The woman in question, cried to the King for help, but the King could not help her because the problem at hand was beyond his power to solve. Indeed, there is a limit to man's ability, no matter how big and great the man may be. God is the Almighty. Hallelujah!

The King saw his inability to help the woman. From his response to her, it was obvious that he also needed help from the One that was higher than himself, that is God. The King therefore said, "... If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?"

(Second Kings  chapter 6 verse 27).

The King was humble enough to acknowledge the Sovereignty of God as the only One that could help the woman, the people and even himself. In fact, God is our only true Source of help in life especially in the present challenges we find ourselves both in our country Nigeria and the world at large.

Dare to put your trust in Him, who is the Almighty. You will be glad that you did, in Jesus name.

PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, I thank You for being my dependable Source of help, in Jesus Mighty name.
