It is love, it is love, it is love that
brought Him down
It is love, it is love, it is love that
brought Him down
It is love, it is love, it is love that
brought Him down

brought Him down
TEXT
"In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him." (First John 4 verse 9).
The magnanimity of the love of God towards us can not be over emphasized. His love is like the vast expanse of the heavens. It is one that's boundless and unfathomable. As it is written, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3 verse 16).
From our Scripture reading this morning, we see the demonstration of God's love towards mankind.
The intensity of His love propelled Him to do the unimaginable. It might be hard for a man to give the only thing he has and to be left with nothing. This is not so with our God; He gave His only Begotten Son for us.
God's holiness demands that all sin be punished. On the other hand, His love provided a plan of redemption and salvation for the sinner. His love provided the Cross of Jesus Christ by which man can have forgiveness and cleansing. The death of Jesus Christ on the Cross is the ultimate demonstration of divine love towards mankind. This love stoops low to lift us high from the depth of sin and death. It was the love of God that brought Jesus down, and the same love took Him to the cross to die for us. Hallelujah!
Can you imagine how God's love was manifested in your own life at one time or the other? In moments of joy and in times of despair, it's not uncommon for you to have felt the gentle embrace of His love.
Our God is love Personified!
His love is not only borne out of steadfast commitment, it functions by a covenant that endures through the ages (Ephesians 2 verse 4).
All the deeds of Christ while He was here on earth were a manifestation of divine love, overflowing like a wellspring in the desert. Through His miracles, His teachings, and His entire Life, He showed unto us the depth of the Father's heart. Hallelujah!
This is the same thing we are called to do as God's children. Let God's love flow through you as you relate to the people around you. Certainly, as you relate to others, you will discover that a whole lot of them do not deserve your love. Don't let that discourage you because that's exactly what we were before God gave us His only Begotten Son to save us. (Romans 5 verse 8).
PRAYER:
Thank You, Heavenly Father, the love You have shown to humanity. Help us to reciprocate in the same magnitude in Jesus' Mighty name.
