The Bible makes us
understand that "The LORD is good to all and his tender mercies are over all his works". (Psalm 145 stanza 9)
God's goodness is one of the attributes of His Person. He is not only infinite and unchanging. His goodness knows no bounds. In the light of these characteristics, we can boldly say that God is generally a good God
One good thing about God is that He does not show favoritism in His dealings with humanity. The Book of Romans 2 verse 11 says, "For there is no respect of persons with God."
Indeed, the Lord's goodness extends to all His creation. He is good to the rich and the poor; the young and the old, the men and the women, etc. Jesus said in the Book of Matthew 5 verse 45, "for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."
We often make the mistake of thinking that some people do not deserve God's mercy or goodness. In this regard, we wish that the Lord could be partial with His generosity. Most times, we fallibly judge others as unworthy of God's goodness; whereas, we forget very quickly that we, on our own part, do not deserve the heavenly Father´s goodness either.
God is the Judge of the heavens and the earth. He's ever true! He's not a man that is often borne on the path of sentiments and feelings. In His judgment, every mouth is stopped.The Bible says in Romans 3 verse 4,
"let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged."
It is generally God’s nature to be good and He's good to all and sundry; irrespective of who we are. He shows forth His goodness upon both the good and the bad; believers and unbelievers. As His creatures, let's take advantage of His goodness by responding to His love through Jesus Christ, His Son.
Henceforth, make it a point of duty to be open to receive and believe His Word as it comes to you. For the one that desires to experience God's goodness in life, that is a good starting point. My fervent hope is that whosoever will do so will never be disappointed, in Jesus name
PRAYER
Thank You Heavenly Father for Your goodness towards me. I've tasted and seen that taking refuge in You brings contentment and fulfillment. Help me to turn to You always and to remain firmly rooted in You, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
