GOD HEALS (PART 5)

TEXT

"So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown." (Job 2 verse 7, King James Version)

The other day we considered the case of the woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself (Luke 13 verse 11)

We observed that there's a whole lot of connection between sickness and the devil. We said further that satan is the author of sickness and disease, but that God is not!

We know very well the story of Job in the Bible. The Scripture verse for the day tells us that after God and satan had had a discussion about Job, by way of temptation, satan went forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown (Job 2 verse 7). Here, we see an incontrovertible and irrefutable instance of satan being responsible for sickness.

The question is, how does satan put sickness on people? The Book of Revelation 13 verse 15 is very revealing. It says,

"And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak,  ... "

Here, the false prophet, a satanic agent, will have power to give to the statue or image a demonic spirit, which will in turn give life unto the image of the beast so that the statue can talk. In other words, the statue will have no life except that the false prophet gave it one in the form of a demonic spirit to enable it to speak. The word translated "life" is the Greek word “pneuma”, meaning "spirit." In the same way as satan or his agent was the animator of the statue, he also provides the life force of many illnesses through demons.

This has been the pattern with satan with regards to sicknesses. Let's consider a few instances. In Matthew 8 verse 16, the Bible says that

"When the even was come, they brought unto him (Jesus) many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits (demons) with his word, and healed all that were sick:" (emphasis added). In these cases, we see that the demons were responsible for the various sicknesses that Jesus healed.

Again, in Matthew 9 verses 32 to 33, the Bible says as follows:

"As they went out, behold, they brought to him (Jesus) a dumb man possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel." (again, emphasis added). Demons are generally known to be behind sicknesses and diseases.

But if you examine any sickness under a microscope, you will not see the demon that produces the life that animates it because it's a spirit. What you will see is the effect of that demonic spirit on the body. Only the damage that it has  done to the body is what you'll see. At other times, medical examinations will show nothing to be wrong with someone, yet he's terribly sick. These are but demonic activities that take place in the human body. Nevertheless, the moment that wicked demonic spirit is cast out of that body in the name of Jesus, the sickness dies and will eventually pass out through the body. It dies because it has no more demonic spirit to enliven or to vitalize it.

That's why James 2 verse 26 says that "the body without the spirit is dead". In the same vein, Psalms 104 verse 29 says that "thou takest away their breath (spirit), they die, and return to their dust." (emphasis added) In other words, it's the spirit in us from God that enlivens us. Once God takes out His spirit in us, we die. The same goes for the body with sickness. Once the spirit is cast out, the virus dies and healing will begin to manifest. Praise the Lord!

PRAYER:

Thank You Father for the gift of Jesus to humanity. Thank You dear Lord Jesus for the gift of Your powerful Name through which the devil and his demons are subject unto us. Glory to God!
