SONG

I will not forget thee

In my hand, I hold thee

In my hand, I hold thee

I will not forget nor leave thee

I am thy Redeemer. I will care for thee.

TEXT

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me." (Isaiah chapter 49 verses 15 to 16.)

Based on what we are passing through, many of us have come to terms with the lies of satan and have refused to believe the Word of God. Satan tends to make us feel that God does not care about our well-being. He also makes us think that we are not receiving the much desired love and care from Him because has forgotten about us.

The Scripture reading for today clearly puts to rest every doubt as regards God's love and care for us, His children.

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.", says the Lord. If God has promised never to forget His own, that's exactly what it means. He can not forget you! As it's practically impossible for a mother to forget to give suck to her suckling child, the Lord says that though she may forget to do so, He (God) can never forget you. Hallelujah 🙌

I happen to be a mother of children. I cannot imagine myself forgetting to give suck to my baby. If I am to go to work or elsewhere, I will ensure that there are necessary provisions ready for my baby. Only a careless woman would forget to care for her children.

Understand that God's care for us is so immense that no child of His should ever entertain doubts about it.

Satan makes many of us believers, whose challenges have become unusually grievous and long, to conclude that God has forgotten them.

We all know that Satan can never speak the truth because it is never his character to do so. He fabricates lies to make us disbelieve God’s Word and feel rejected. Speaking of satan, Jesus reveals that "...When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it." (John chapter 8 verse 44)

The Word of God is very clear about who satan is. Care must be taken therefore not to fall for his lies. We need to stay strong upon the Word of God if we are to be victorious over his schemes.

Brethren, if God has said He will not forget us, that's exactly what it is. Let's take it as such, hook, line and sinker. Besides, in Jeremiah chapter 29 verse 11 God has assuredly said,

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

For you that is reading this devotional message this morning. be assured that God has not forgotten you. Be assured further that you are His project, the completion of which He has sworn to effect. Therefore, cheer up and refuse to be downcast anymore. God's help is here for you, in Jesus name.

PRAYER

Thank You, Lord, for not forgetting me and for having my name engraved upon the palm of Your Hand. Your grace, O Lord, is locating me this morning to establish me for Your glory, in Jesus' name.
