DESIRE FOR CHANGE.

 SONG

God is able, abundantly able

To deliver and to save

God is able, abundantly able

To deliver those who trust in Him.

TEXT

"And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested". - 1Chron 4:10

The greatest desire of every child of God is to pray and receive the answers to his or her prayer.

Jabez was named in accordance to the circumstances surrounding his birth, and probably his life was also characterized by the meaning of his name; 'sorrow'. The Bible says he prayed to God to change his situation, and God heard him. Jabez understood what others did not understand. That whoever looks to God will always have a better story to tell. If we follow after God, then we are bound to be differentiated from others.

Jabez knew that it was only God that could turn his story around, and he gave himself to Him in prayers.

Whatever kind of positive change you might desire is possible in the Name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. But the question is how determined is your desire to move to the next level of your life?

For anyone to experience the performance of the Word and the promises of God in life, whether in ministry, academics, business, or career, there must be undoubted determination. Success and progress in any area requires certain basic principles, such as the presence of a compelling desire. Your desire and determination should be strong enough to compel you to take the right and necessary actions that will deliver success to you.

In the book of Mark 5:25-29, we see the story of a woman who desired a change in her situation.

The woman with the issue of blood suffered for twelve long years, had to make up her mind to receive a miracle.  Her desire and determination made her press through an impregnable crowd to get to Jesus, defying the dos and don'ts that forbade her from having physical contact with other people. The flow she suffered made her ceremonially unclean and also forbade her from being seen in the public (Leviticus 15:25-27). She damned all consequences and stood the risk of being stoned to death and went for the garment of Jesus. However, her desire for freedom, for her healing, caused her to act upon faith, and she got a miracle.

In Mark 9:23, Jesus said, “…all things are possible to him that believeth.”

So, it makes no difference who you are and where you are in life today. Anything is possible, if only you can believe. Act on God’s Word. Act your faith and be absolute about the result that you want to see, and it shall be so.

PRAYER

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for my heart is made up for You as the source of my being. You are turning everything about me around for my good.
