BELIEVE TO SEE YOUR DESIRE FULFILLED.

TEXT

"I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." ( Psalm 27 verse 13, King James Version)

This happens to be my favorite portion of the Psalms. Psalm 27 was penned by King David, the sweet psalmist of Israel. He wrote it at a time in his life when he encountered so many adversities and there seemed to be no solution in sight. Obviously, things weren't going his way, but in spite of that, he chose not to be worried or upset, but to be of a calm repose, confident that he would see better days to come. Today, the child of God is faced with the evil machinations of a wicked world. The volume and magnitude of wickedness and evil that we see or hear about on a daily basis is very alarming. As Christians, we can only pray for grace to continue to wait and trust in the Lord for salvation.

Like King David, let's uphold our integrity and maintain our trust in the Lord, believing to see His goodness in the land of the living. It may look as though evil is on the path of triumph, but let's be confident and believe that better days will not elude us. The crucial point for attention is what you believe to see. Do you believe to see a better you, a better son or daughter, a better state of your finances, a better Nigeria? Biblical faith requires that we believe to see. Like Thomas, many would rather want to see in order to believe. He refused to believe Jesus' resurrection without sensory information. Hear him:

"Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe." (John 20 verse 25)

But the faith of God requires that we believe in order to see. This was how Abraham's faith functioned. He believed in order to see! When Lazarus had died and Martha reproached Jesus for not having come earlier to healed him, Jesus replied saying unto her,

"Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?" (John 11 verse 40)

Abraham couldn't understand why God would ask him to sacrifice Isaac, his only son. But he believed that even if he did, God would raise him back to life (Hebrews 11 verse 19). Since he believed, he eventually saw the glory of God. Joseph also couldn't understand why he went through all the difficulties in Egypt  but because he trusted God, in the end he saw the glory of God in it all. Time would fail me to talk about Job, Moses, Mary the Mother of Jesus, the Apostles of old.

You may not understand why you are going through what you are currently going through; whether in your country, in your office, ministry or family. But if only you can believe, you will eventually see the glory of God in all of it, in Jesus' mighty name. Indeed, God didn't call us to understand Him, but to believe and to trust in Him.

Notwithstanding the current nauseous and odious happenings in our country, I personally believe to see God's goodness soon. Don't you believe so?

PRAYER:

Dearest Heavenly Father, I'll rather believe you so I can see your goodness in my life. I refuse to seek to understand or to reason out issues that are currently trending in my country. I dearly believe to see your goodness soonest in my life and in my country Nigeria, in Jesus' mighty name.
